I used to always love this place, and used to go there and take my kids all the time to look at the animals, and even planned on buying a dog there someday, but NEVER AGAIN!!!!! I took my kids in there and my 2 yr. Also, the cats had long nails and scratched me in the back while I was turned. I don't think a lot of moms would have been as classy and mature as I was. I still feel that there is something I should be able to do, or some kind of complaint I should be able to make, but I was told that there's not.
I never write reviews, but I feel so strongly about this. I pretty much realized there was nothing that was gonna get done, but I will never go there again, and I would think twice about taking your kids in there, and even if you don't have kids, dealing with these kind of people. If you have a bird that could attack someone for screaming, don't you think it should be in a cage!!!!!? How about if a newborn baby, a kid with a temper tantrum, or a mentally disabled person went in there, and was making a lot of noise? I would thing that would be a safety issue. I told her again how displeased I was, and she just kept defending what she did, saying that there was a bird out of the cage, and his screaming could have caused it to attack my son. I finally went back in there today, asking for Vinnie, but she was not there, but guess who was? She told me Vinnie would probaly not be able to reture my call, because she was very busy with her sick uncle. I called 4 times within a month, leaving messages for Vinnie to call me back, and never got a phone call. She just kept defending what she did,and I could see I wasn't gonna get anywhere, so I left. I told her I understand if he can't scream in front of the pets, but it was absolutely unnecessary for her to yell at my son like that, and told her she should have said said something, in a respectful way, to me, and I definitely would have taken him out of the store.
She yelled at him for about a minute in a very mean and rude way, and he was so scared, he was holding on to my leg for dear life! When I told her it was unapprropriate for her to yell at my son like that and if she had a problem she should have said something to me, she defended herself saying that you have to talk to kids like that, and kept saying that he couldn't scream around the pets, etc.
Then, he did it again, and she came over, pointed her finger in my sons face, and started yelling at him, telling him he was gonna scare the animals, and told him if he didn't stop screaming, he was gonna have to leave the store. old son squealed in excitement upon seeing the animals, and the lady that worked there yelled "hey" very rudely, and I let that go.
